Christianity is a roughly 2000 year old tradition of faith that has grown, fractured, split, and evolved into hundreds (thousands?) of denominations and unique local church communities. Thankfully, we haven’t been left on our own to discern the core beliefs and practices that define orthodox Christianity. The Apostles Creed is a grassroots confession of essential belief that followers of Jesus have professed for nearly 1800 years and that still guides our faith today.
